Tokens in absence of (2026)
Abundance, childhood, fairness, fertility, stability

Material: Glazed ceramic
A series of pieces inspired by tokens at the Foundling Museum. The tokens were small objects that mothers leaving their babies at the Foundling Hospital would also leave as a means of identification. The hope was that they would one day be able to reclaim their child.
The tokens I’ve made represent different elements of self or the world around us that feel like they are missing. But they are hopeful pieces because their very existence is a belief that a reunification can occur.
