Anastassia Zamaraeva is a sculptural ceramic artist based in London, UK. Her work has been exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, with notable shows including a solo exhibition at Graphite Gallery, New Orleans, a duo exhibition with Liza Molnár at ST.ART Gallery, London and inclusion in Reconfiguring the Figure, a major group exhibition at Pangolin London. Her sculptures are held in private collections worldwide and have been featured in FAD Magazine, Colossal, and on CBC’s The Great Canadian Pottery Throwdown. She is currently undertaking a residency at Revue Studios in London run by Soho Revue Gallery. Alongside her studio practice, Anastassia works as an art psychotherapist, which deeply informs her approach to her own work.
The draw of clay for Anastassia is in its innate ability to connect us to our unconscious and past experiences of touch. Her work is led by intuition and a sense of play, navigating the multifaceted experience of being human; with all its melancholy, discomfort and humour. Drawing from lived experience, she explores themes of home, grief and gender, while keeping craftsmanship as a core tenet. Anastassia’s sculptures are characterised by tenderness and intimacy that arises from her deep connection with the material and with her own subconscious.
Anastassia offers one-to-one ceramics wellbeing sessions in her London studio and a Patreon subscription service available worldwide.
