Kikimora’s feet (2024)

Material: Stoneware clay, glaze
Kikimora is a female swamp spirit in Slavic folklore. She lives in swamps and lures travellers away from safe paths to disappear in the mist. It’s reductive to think of her an evil being, she is a force of nature who punishes carelessness and guards the sanctity of wild places. She can be seen as representing untamed womanhood and the porous boundary between life and death.
These are her feet.
